CXXV Artworks

Our project artists Nicola Burrell and Lisa Temple-Cox were commissioned to create the CXXV artworks in response to North Primary School’s history. They worked with the Year 5 pupils exploring the school’s 125 year history, with the aim of producing a piece of artwork that was a lasting legacy of the project.

Lisa and Nicola gathered information at the community events, worked with the project historian, explored the archive and delivered a series of  artist-led workshops and design sessions with the pupils, which fed into and inspired the final artworks. It was intended that the pupils should see that the work they undertook was clearly reflected in the commissioned artworks.

It was important to Lisa and Nicola that the artworks were integral to the school environment. These unique artworks are a legacy of the project and are both a symbol and celebration of the school’s 125th anniversary, as well as an ongoing project piece that the school can continue to use to inspire future classes.
